Formula E-Moto DOT 4 EB9 Brakes

The Formula EB9 is the higher-spec version of Formula’s latest e-moto brake system, purpose-built for the newer generation of higher-power lightweight electric dirt bikes. It sits above the EB7 and is engineered to handle increased speed, weight, and repeated hard stops — making it the right choice for riders on the latest platforms who demand more from their braking system.

Like the EB7, the EB9 is CNC-machined from aeronautic-grade 7075 aluminum (Ergal) in Italy, runs DOT 4 fluid, and is sold as a complete matched front-and-rear set. The key differences are a wider caliper body, thicker pads, and bike-specific mount spacing designed for the newer generation of e-moto platforms — not the older 74.2mm class.

Fitment — Measure Before You Order

The EB9 is offered in multiple post-mount versions. You must match the exact center-to-center spacing of the mounting holes on your fork or adapter. It is not compatible with older 74.2mm platforms (Surron Light Bee, Talaria MX3/MX4, E-Ride Pro SS 2.0, etc.) — those take the EB7.

  • 95.5mm mount — select E-Ride Pro and compatible platforms
  • 99.5mm mount — E-Ride Pro SR / 3.0 and compatible platforms

If you have changed forks, wheels, or adapters, measure again before ordering. A digital caliper is ideal; within ±0.5mm is usually sufficient.

Rotor Compatibility

  • Designed around 220mm rotors
  • Compatible up to 260mm with the correct adapters
  • Maximum rotor thickness: 3.2mm
